Studio Sprint {LIVE}: From Spark to Collection

Every collection starts the same way — with a spark of inspiration. A color, an experience, a memory, an idea that pulls you in.

A color. A texture. A place you keep photographing. A motif that shows up in your sketchbook whether you plan it or not.

The URBAN PETALS: Concrete Bloom collection started with a tree I'd walked past in my morning walks for months and never really seen — until it bloomed.

That single spark became the color palette, the mood, the name, the product graphics, and eventually a sold-out Collector's Box — then extended into ideas for surface patterns, labels, product packaging, printed swatch journals, content themes, and future product directions.

But between that spark and the finished collection? There's a whole process most artists rarely show or talk about.

That's what this sprint is.

In two live sessions, I'll walk you through the exact collection development framework I've used to design 50+ sold-out capsule collections — and you'll build your own collection direction in real time, with Claude or your fave AI tool as your studio assistant.

What makes this sprint different

  • Live build-along: You're developing your collection in real time — not studying theory.
  • Artist-led AI: Practical Claude workflows that support your creative voice instead of replacing it.
  • Cohesion over randomness: We're building a through-line you can reuse across a full body of work.
  • Hands-on mixed media play: We open with mark-making warmups to loosen your hands and generate unexpected motif ideas — then translate what shows up into collection language and color direction.
  • Feedback + momentum: Artist idea reviews and clear next steps so you leave with direction, not just inspiration.

What you'll walk away with

  • A Collection Field Notes document — your spark, refined and organized, with color direction, motifs, and a clear through-line
  • A mood board direction built from your own photos and inspiration
  • A collection engine — a repeatable direction you can translate into patterns, paint names, labels, prompts, posts, product graphics, and future capsule releases
  • A reusable framework you can use every time you start something new — a series, a product line, a body of work, a creative project

How we use Claude (artist-led, not copy-paste)

You'll learn the "creative direction guidance" I use inside Claude — so you can steer outputs toward your aesthetic instead of getting generic results.

We'll use Claude as a studio assistant to:

  • Translate messy inspiration into clear collection language and themes
  • Expand motifs, color stories, and naming directions — fast
  • Generate visual research directions you can actually build from
  • Keep the thread consistent as you extend into products, content, and launches

This isn't a prompt pack. It's a guided, artist-led process that teaches you how to direct AI with your own photos, preferences, and point of view — so the work stays original and unmistakably yours.

Session 1: From Spark to Field Notes

We'll start with a short mixed media exploration — mark-making warmup to generate motif ideas and get your hands moving. Then we'll use voice dictation, guided brainstorming, and Claude as a creative collaborator to develop your spark into a full collection direction — color, motifs, and a story that ties it all together. Bring your idea — or come ready to generate one. I'll review select participants' work live.

Session 2: From Field Notes to Inspiration Board

Refine your color direction, learn how to generate collection research and reference images using AI, and build a digital inspiration board in Procreate. Plus, a before-and-after look at how I turn a collection direction into product graphics in Canva — a real example of how the work you're building translates into marketing-ready visuals. Hot seat feedback on participant inspiration boards included.

Both sessions are 90 minutes with full replay access.

What's included

  • 2 live sessions with Traci
  • Collection Development Template — a guided Notion dashboard to start capturing your spark before Session 1
  • The URBAN PETALS blueprint — the real process behind a real collection, not a theoretical framework
  • Live feedback on participant work during both sessions
  • Full replay access to both sessions

This sprint is for you if

  • You have ideas but no how to connect them into a cohesive body of work
  • You've been collecting photos, textures, and color inspiration but don't know how to turn it into something
  • You want to develop a collection, a series, or a product line and need a starting framework
  • You're curious about AI as a creative collaborator but want an artist-led approach — not a generic prompt tutorial
  • You want to see how one spark can become products, content, packaging, and a launch story
